Canvas cafe is my go to place after a swim or Pilates session at the Fremantle leisure centre. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch and coffee and is open 7 days a week from 8am.  You can sit in the beautiful secret courtyard, or outside on the Art Center’s front lawn. There is heaps of free parking out the front on Finnerty Street and lots of space for kids to run around.  On top of the excellent family friendly location (it’s so peaceful with all the trees!) Canvas has a delicious and refreshing  menu. No burgers and chips here, but yummy home baked goodies and healthy dishes full of flavor. From braised lamb, lentils, babahganouj eggs to black sticky rice and gluten-free brownies. The absolute must try is their signature dish Shakshuka: two pouched eggs in a secret 16-hour tomato sauce and fresh herbs.  Besides the menu they claim to have Fremantle’s best coffee and I must admit their coffee is always spot on; hot, smooth and rich.  To top it all off the service is prompt and very friendly. Overall verdict: ♥♥♥ @canvasfreo
